One Person Dead in Motorcycle Crash
The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified the motorcyclist who died in a fatal crash on Tuesday evening. The victim was 35-year-old John Doe of Colorado Springs. The crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14, at the intersection of Academy Boulevard and Platte Avenue. According to preliminary reports, Mr. Doe was riding his motorcycle eastbound on Academy Boulevard when he was struck by a car that was attempting to turn left onto Platte Avenue. Mr. Doe was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car, a 40-year-old Colorado Springs woman, was not injured. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and no further details have been released at this time.
