Hull KR to bid farewell to George King ahead of reported Super League move

Hull Kingston Rovers will bid farewell to forward George King ahead of a reported move to a Super League rival.

The 26-year-old has been a key player for the Robins since joining from Wakefield Trinity in 2021, making 45 appearances and scoring 11 tries.

However, it is understood that King has agreed a deal to join another Super League club, with Hull KR now preparing to announce his departure.

King's departure will come as a blow to Hull KR, who have seen a number of their key players leave the club in recent months.

The Robins have already lost Kane Linnett and Jordan Abdull to Wakefield Trinity and Leigh Centurions respectively, while Ben Crooks has joined Championship side Featherstone Rovers.

Hull KR are yet to make any significant signings for the 2023 season, but they are expected to be active in the transfer market in the coming weeks.

The club have been linked with a move for former Huddersfield Giants forward Luke Yates, while they are also said to be interested in signing Wigan Warriors prop Brad Singleton.

Hull KR will be hoping to make a strong start to the 2023 season under new head coach Willie Peters, who has joined the club from NRL side South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The Robins will begin their Super League campaign with a home game against Wigan Warriors on February 12.
